I would add Pru for impaired risk and tobacco users, non cigs, and I have found Liberty Life the most competitive for smokers.

An RBC Company? Do you use their express term product and if so is it as quick as they suggest?

I just use their regularly UW term, rates are so much lower for smokers than anyone, if you use Compulife you can see.

Unity was good for smokers but I just heard today they aren't accepting new biz for a while. Have to build thier reserves back up I guess.
