Medigap Carrier Graveyard

My favorite, CSI, owned by Berkshire Hathaway, so it must be good, right?
2020 Buh-Bye
What is CSI Medicare?

They are known to be a trusted insurer for seniors looking for a Medigap policy. Established in 1977 and acquired by Berkshire Hathaway in 1992, CSI offers competitive supplement plans in 48 states. It has been given an A+ Superior Rating by A.M.'s Best for their financial ability to pay future claims.

Everyone is concerned about A ratings, what does that even amount to how many A+ rated carries go under just the same
have high increase just the same

In Florida its always been dominated by AARP/UHC and Florida Blue, with Bankers Life/Colonial Penn and UA getting a small slither.

None having really come and gone, except maybe Gerber and Mutual of Omaha. Years ago I used to occasionally come across clients that had one of their medsupps, but it has been many many years since that has happened.
Mutual of Omaha is alive in Florida.

Here's the top 5 med-supp companies in Florida and the pct. of customers...

1. AARP/UnitedHealthcare53.5%.
2. Florida Blue*17.9%.
3. United American Insurance Company11.6%.
4. Bankers Life4.5%.
5. Humana1.4%.

Correct, thank you for proving my point.
Mutual/United of Omaha has almost no market share.

Also, Nerd Wallet under estimates AARP/UHC

National Association of Insurance Commissioners says
UHC has 55.3%

United of Omaha has 1.276%
